Psalm
78:4 “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy
deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He
has done.”
In
honor of Memorial Day, and in honor of all of those
individuals who serve our Country, On Sunday, May
20th, at both the 8:30 and 11AM Service, our Youth
Choirs will be taking us on a journey through American
history with “A Salute to America.” This is
a wonderfully patriotic musical that will bring
life to many individuals of America's past. These
are people like George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln…among
others. We know who they were. They
built our Nations foundation through Biblical Principals.
They lived their lives honoring God, and they
were not afraid to include Him in everything they
did. They knew that without His help, they
would not succeed.
2
Chronicles 7:14…If my people, who are called by
my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek
my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their
sin and will heal their land.
Our
children will bring these characters to life, as
they bring honor and glory to the creator of the
nation that we call “One nation under God.” They
will sing some pretty famous songs, and at times,
you will be invited to sing along. This will
be an enjoyable time for all, and it will give us
an opportunity to do something very important. We
have a wonderfully blessed plan to include each
and every one of you in this time of remembering.
Traditionally, Memorial Day is a day to honor
those who’ve lost their lives in service to our
country. I would like to include those who
serve us in so many ways now, in order to bring
the reality of it to our children. Thank you
for understanding.
***As
a Grand Finale, we will be saluting all of the individuals
within our congregation, as well as guests, who
serve our community, our country, and our people.
This includes Military, Police, Corrections,
Fire Fighters, EMS, Pilots, Nurses…etc. This will
also include those folks who have retired from these
positions. If you wear a uniform, WE
WANT YOU!!! If it still fits, and you’d like
to wear it, we would be honored. If not, then
that’s OK too! It will be a time of joy and
fellowship for our church…a time for remembering…a
time for encouraging…a time for loving each other
in Christ. COME, and be Blessed!
One
closing thought…You would be surprised at how many of
our children don’t know enough about the Godly principals
on which this nation was founded! We need to take
responsibility for some of their education, for without
it, we are lost. Why? Because any education
that does not include God does not bring us or our children
to a place we would want to call home. Where God
is not allowed, strife and heartache abound. Our
beloved America stands strong in Him, and without Him,
where is the blessing? I believe that God meant
this country to be one where His Gospel Message of Salvation
would be preached by a people who were free to preach
it anytime and anywhere. Wasn’t that why the Pilgrims
came here to begin with? Let us stand united with
our children as we equip them with an education unmatched
by any other…an education that comes from knowing God’s
word and His promises.

127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builder’s
labor is in vain"
